KAMIKA(T)ZE

In 1960, the CIA came up with the idea of equipping a cat with eavesdropping technology to use it as an inconspicuous surveillance tool. Due to their ability to move quietly, cats were considered ideal for secret missions. The project was named "Acoustic Kitty". It began with an extensive surgical operation, a tiny microphone was implanted in the cat's pinna, while a thin antenna was hidden in its tail. This was followed by extensive training sessions to teach her to follow specific instructions and remain calm in dangerous situations. The training proved to be extremely difficult, as cats are naturally independent and unpredictable animals. Nevertheless, the first mission took place when the cat was set on a group of Soviet diplomats in Washington, DC. The result was a catastrophic malfunction. The cat was run over by a cab and the multi-million dollar project was abandoned.
Together with choreographer Corinne Eckenstein and multimedia spatial artist Florian Machner from prjktr, the lovefuckers will develop a grotesque piece inspired by the Acoustic Kitty case.
An animatronic cat puppet with artificial intelligence will help them  to become rich and famous.

In an absurd, Lynch-like performance between illusionism and horror, we place failure in larger contexts and address expectations, opportunities, privileges and participation in this neoliberal society and will ultimately give failure a new shine.
